Media previously reported Jacob Robida's gunshot wounds to the head were possibly caused by a police officer. An investigation now shows that the gun shot wounds, that eventually led to Robida's death, were in fact self-inflicted.

At a late afternoon news conference New Bedford District Attorney Paul Walsh Jr. said that ballistics test showed that the fatal shot was fired by Jacob Robid's own gun. We also now have confirmed information that the gunshot wound that also killed his passenger was in fact fired from Robida's gun as previously thought. His passenger, Jennifer Rena Bailey, 33, was picked up by Robida in West Virginia in his flight from Massachusetts. Unconfirmed information show that Robida may have been involved/or wanted to be involved with Bailey.

As most of you know, Robida also took the life of Gassville, Ark., police officer Jim Sell. Funeral services will be held this Friday, February 10th. A group from New Bedford, Mass. will attend the service, including New Bedford's Mayor, Chief of Police as well as a few members of the gay community.

Such a horrible situation with a deeply tragic ending.
