A homeless man, who is accused of stabbing two men that were simply walking downtown Portland, went before a judge today.

The 25-year old suspect, Josh Blair, was officially charged with robbery, assault and intimidation. The third charge, intimidation, leaves the door open to prosecute Blair with a hate crime.

Blair stabbed the young men downtown Portland early Wednesday, after making a number of comments about their sexual orientation. One victim was stabbed in the neck in the brutal attack.

Blair will be back in court next week after the grand jury has had a chance to look at the case. Police say that Blair has a very long record of drug and robbery arrests.
