I like how uncomfortable John McCain was during the interview. I'm actually very glad that Ellen was able to get him on and be able to get him to talk about marriage equality even though he obviously disagrees with it and I think she handled it extremely well.
McCain was very brave though. If I was him and had his views I probably wouldn't even appear on Ellen's show. It took a lot of guts and I'm almost proud of him for even showing up. Even though it was probably a publicity stunt, it took a lot to get him there.
I, too, was amazed that he even chose to come on the Ellen show! I love when he says "I just believe in the unique status of"... blah blah blah... one man+one woman= marriage mantra. :) WAY TO GO ELLEN! She didn't let him off the mat for a minute!
Well, this is how we're going to win in California in November: we need to not let the right dominate the "media" discussions with abstract talk about "homosexuals" and "gay marriage." We need to put faces and relationships in front of people, and without getting hostile or petty in return, we just have to go up to the ones who can be persuaded (the real crazies...we just let them be) and say, "Hey, here's me. Here's my life. Here's my love." Ellen rocked this, I am so proud of her.
BTW, his handlers will never let McCain near a gay person again.
Now, if we could just get Ellen to ask Hillary why she supports maintaining the section of DOMA that allows other states to choose not to recognize Ellen's legal marriage...
I have to be honest, I was a bit pleasantly surprised that he even went on the show....and it was actually a bit nice to see him talk outside of a rigid news sort of scenario. Even though I'm going to freaking die if he is our Commander in Chief.

Good Job Ellen!
