Sen. McCain Changes Mind Just In Time for 2008
John McCain, the Republican Senator from Arizona, has always been known to disagree with his conservative colleagues on key issues. Until recently, McCain was opposed to a federal amendment that would ban gay marriage in the United States. Apparently, that is not the case anymore. Thanks Jerry Falwell!
From ABC NEWS
According to Falwell, McCain is not pushing for a federal marriage amendment at this time. But McCain "reconfirmed" to Falwell that he would support a federal constitutional amendment defining marriage as the union of one man and one woman if a federal court were to strike down state constitutional bans on gay marriage.
McCain will be giving the commencement address at Falwell's Liberty University in May. Everyone knows that it was the hard-right Christians that gave Bush his second term. Obviously McCain wants those votes.

And not only does "Liberty University" not admit gay students - it expels you if they find out you are gay. I have to admit that I cannot imagine any self-respecting GLBT person wanting to attend anyway...
The school was also a recent stop the SoulForce Equality Ride. 24 Christians that are on the Equality Ride tour were arrested for "trespassing" (being gay) on Liberty's campus.

thats really stupid to expel a student because they are gay. i mean being gay, straight or whatever shouldnt be a reason to get expelled. you should be able to learn no matter what sexuality you are. seriously people need to grow up, i mean being gay is normal now and it shouldnt be shunned because its not the "american way"
