Flogging, jail time and even death! Just another day of fun!

Why would it not surprise me if we started to see this in to the U.S.?

Despite international condemnation Saudi Arabia continues mass arrests of men suspected of being gay. On the weekend Saudi heavily armed security forces burst into a building in Riyadh and arrested 92 men.

Al-Wifaq news, which has close links to the Saudi Arabian Interior Ministry, quotes officials as calling the venue a "deviants' party" - a term frequently used in describing gays.

Homosexuality is illegal in the Saudi kingdom and punishable by by flogging, lengthy prison terms or death under Sharia Islamic law.

Al-Wifaq reports that some of the men were foreign nationals - from Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Syria and Lebanon.

In March month, 110 men were arrested at what was described as a "gay wedding" in the city of Jeddah.

About eighty men were later released. The remaining men were sentenced to prison and floggings.

Four of the men (two Saudi Arabians, a Jordanian and a Yemeni) were sentenced by a court in Jeddah to 2,000 lashes and two years' imprisonment, and 31 others to 200 lashes and six months to one year in prison.

The sentences prompted an appeal to the government by Amnesty International. There has been no response from the government.

A day prior to the March arrests, a gay couple was beheaded in a public execution in the northern town of Arar, near the Iraq border.

Uhm... perhaps because you're an idiot?

Ahaha - First off, thank you for dedicating an entire post on your blog to me.

Second, do you actually think I believe that our government would be doing things like this to it's citizens? No. It was said with complete sarcasm.

I do however think that there are plenty of people out there who would not think twice about doing this to gays.

I am glad you were so 'moved' to write a whole post about this on your blog.

Yes, I do think you believe it. Your blog is dedicated to proving that America is bad because it doesn't agree with your stance on gay marriage. Now you just back-pedal with the excuse of, "Oh, it's just sarcasm."

As far as "plenty of people" who would hurt gays... there are plenty of people who would hurt heteros, too. There are plenty of people who would hurt any number of a group of people they disagree with or dislike. That doesn't really mean much, since it's irrelevant to the discussion of the government protecting your freedoms which you can't get in other supposedly more civilized societies. You aren't interested in equal rights. You're interested in expanding special rights to yourself and interested in tearing down the society in the process. Any gay in this society has exactly the same rights that I have as a hetero. Get over it.

Don't be so egotistical. Pointing out your fallacious statement and exposing your dishonest agenda is not "dedication" any more than "gay" means "normal". It's like a rat trap. The rat trap isn't "dedicated" to the rat.

I've learned quickly that arguing with "people of faith" is absolutely pointless. You are obviously one of those people.

Although as far as special rights... you said "You aren't interested in equal rights. You're interested in expanding special rights to yourself and interested in tearing down the society in the process. Any gay in this society has exactly the same rights that I have as a hetero. Get over it."

How do I as a homosexual have the same rights as a heterosexual? If you mean that I could marry a woman just like you - then you are right. Although we all know that wouldn't work out. That is simply one of those arguments that come from people who are so stuck in their ways - there is no hope for them understanding where the other side is coming from.

So what are these "special rights"? Marriage Equality is not 'special rights'. It's equal rights. You will never believe that I was born the way I am and that is fine. Although I personally know this is a fact because I am the one who is gay. Were you born straight? Did you make a choice to be straight? Was there a time in your life where you could have decided to "become gay". Your answer will be no. So tell me how I 'chose' or how I 'became gay'.

I've learned quickly that arguing with "people of faith" is absolutely pointless. You are obviously one of those people.

There's your first mistake.

That is simply one of those arguments that come from people who are so stuck in their ways - there is no hope for them understanding where the other side is coming from.

There's your second.

Although I personally know this is a fact because I am the one who is gay. Were you born straight? Did you make a choice to be straight? Was there a time in your life where you could have decided to "become gay". Your answer will be no. So tell me how I 'chose' or how I 'became gay'.

Third. Yawn. Typical responses. Your indoctrination has taken quite well. You should learn to think for yourself instead of spouting what's been poured into your brain cavity.

Now.... if you really care at all to hear **my** thoughts instead of what you **think** are my thoughts.

Firstly, I never made as statement about homosexuality. Nice knee-jerk reaction of making me what you want me to be so that you can have a position to defend. How about addressing what I actually said, instead?

Tell me... as a single hetero male, can I assign my pensions/medical decisions/insurance to anyone? Can I give the power to make life-changing decisions to anyone? Even if I am a hetero male living with a woman... I don't have the same "rights" as a married couple. Get over it.

What you want isn't equality for everyone. What you want is your own piece of the special pie that married people get. You couldn't care less if I as a single hetero get the same benefits that you would have by having the ability to change marriage into what you want it to be. You don't want equality. If you wanted equality, you'd be wanting to make everyone equal, not elevate yourself in with the special married class.

The fact is that marriage has a definition and a reason. To continue to erode what marriage is, does not progress your interests. If I wanted to marry my mother to give her my pension, the society (including you) would be aghast. If I wanted to marry my brother to give him insurance... ditto.

So, don't talk to me about wanting equality. You obviously don't understand the term.

In addition, you should feel like such a hypocrite. Your ilk likes to talk about "tolerance" and "equality" and such without even understanding the terms or seeing your own blind bigotry, intolerance, and hatred. Your initial statement quoted above proves my point. It also proves that you're quick to make assumptions.

p.s. Whether you were born the way you are is irrelevent to the discussion.
