Poor Tammy Faye Messner.

[UPDATE HERE] Tammy Faye Messner has passed away.

Last night on Larry King Tammy Faye was interviewed. I watched it and honestly it was heartbreaking. Stricken with lung cancer, weighing only 65 pounds--she is not in good shape and obviously does not have a lot of time left on this earth. In the clip below she talks about gays and her son Jay Bakker joins the conversation.

God bless you Tammy Faye.

She has lifted the burden of fear I felt with my husband going back to Iraq. Her strength carries me along, and I am forever grateful.

This year I've lost two people who were my role models- my father and Tammy Faye. It's not my goal, but my mission to become a better human being and one that is more compassionate to others.

Beautiful Tammy Faye went to Heaven today. It is hard for me to grasp how such a wonderful human being would have to go through what she went through and then get taken from us, but an important message she gave us all, and wanted to give us even this week just before her death, was how important it is to have faith. She had such faith in God that I have no doubt in my mind that she is in Heaven. I'll bet she will be able to help us in an even more amazing way from Heaven than she was able to do here on Earth.

I emailed her once to thank her for being a true Christian who lived by example and who didn't believe in judging people. She EMBRACED all people and showed us what the love of Jesus was all about. I told her that I am a straight Christian woman myself and I have many gay friends, and I thank God so much for her for showing the world that there are still Christians in this world who do NOT believe in using Christianity as an excuse to judge others in order to avoid facing our own insecurities or weaknesses. The judgmental type Christians are so vocal about their ways that those of us who don't feel the way they do sometimes end up feeling alone. Well, THANK GOD for Tammy Faye for letting the love of Jesus shine through her and show the world what it means to love the way Jesus loved. May God bless her family during this tough time and help them to keep on spreading the love and faith that Tammy had.

We love you, Tammy Faye, you glamorous child of God, you.
